Top-tier comedian Brian Regan returns to the Gallo Center for the Arts. The State Theatre premieres the winners of Modesto’s 48 Hour Film Competition, while the annual Camellia Show returns to Modesto Junior College. These events and more make up some of the entertainment planned March 21-27 in the region.
Brian Regan
Brian Regan will return to perform his clean comedy at the Gallo Center. His career of 30-plus years has included theater tours across North America, visiting close to 100 cities each year. “Critics, fans and fellow comedians agree: Brian Regan is one of the most respected comedians in the country,” the center’s website says. Limited tickets remained available.

Pipers, not peppers
The Red Hot Chilli Pipers bring bagpipes and rock to the Gallo Center, not to be confused with band The Red Hot Chili Peppers. “It’s Bagrock. AC/DC meets the poet Robert Burns,” the center’s website says. The nine-piece ensemble consists of pipes, guitars, keyboards and drums.

Fey anniversary tour
Fey brings her “Hits Tour — 30th Anniversary” to the Gallo Center. Fey is an influential singer in Spanish-language music, and her show promises the hits “that have made millions dance for three decades,” the center’s website says, It’s her first appearance at the Modesto venue.

Russ Taff
Russ Taff will bring his music to the State Theatre, along with guest Steve Taylor and Some Band. Multiple Grammy and Dove Award winners, Taff and Taylor will appear in “The Almost Farewell Tour.” Taff will be backed by his Some Band. The Almost Farewell Tour follows the recent release of Taff’s latest album, “Cover Story.”

Film competition premiere
The State Theatre will celebrate the finale of its Modesto 48 Hour Film Competition. The event showcases the competition’s Top 16 films, created during a 48-hour weekend. The evening will be hosted by competition director Andrew Fischer Wong and will include a ceremony to award cash prizes to winners in several categories.

Camellia Show
The two-day Camellia Show again will be presented by the Camellia Society of Modesto. The event shows off award-winning flowers at the Modesto Junior College West Campus. Unique and hard-to-find camellias will be for sale both days.

Murphys Irish Day returns to the historic Gold Rush town as it honors its cultural heritage. There will be booths, food, art, wine, entertainment and more. A parade on Main Street begins at 11 a.m.
