A sold-out show at the Gallo Center for the Arts featuring Academy Award-winning actor Morgan Freeman has been postponed.
Previously set for Nov. 21 at the downtown Modesto venue, the show is expected to be rescheduled.
“The producers told us Mr. Freeman has an unexpected scheduling conflict and we are working closely with them to reschedule as soon as possible,” Director of Marketing and Communications Doug Hosner said in an email.
The show has been “sold out for several months with a very long waiting list,” he said.
“Morgan Freeman’s Symphonic Blues Experience” features the critically acclaimed actor live on stage introducing and narrating a blues music show, according to a May story in The Bee.
The show was described in the story as “a transformative journey through the music, culture and legacy of the Mississippi Delta, the birthplace of the blues.”
The attraction to the show was evident when it was announced. Gallo Center Chief Executive Officer Chad Hilligus said in The Bee story that it is “not often an A-list Hollywood legend comes to Modesto...”
A five-time Oscar nominee, Freeman won in 2005 as best supporting actor for his role in “Million Dollar Baby.”
