Television cooking competition show “MasterChef” brings its action to the Gallo Center for the Arts stage. Singer Lila Downs also will perform at the downtown Modesto theater.

Lila Downs
Winner of six Latin Grammys and one Grammy, Mexican American singer-songwriter Lila Downs will perform at the Gallo Center. Leonid & Friends
Leonid & Friends re-creates the music of popular classic music groups, most notably Chicago. The band will bring its show to the Gallo Center. The group “really gained traction when Chicago itself published Leonid & Friends’ first video on its official website,” according to the center’s website. The 11-piece band has expanded to perform songs by Earth Wind & Fire, Blood Sweat & Tears and more.

MoChiMu After Dark
MoChiMu After Dark: Cosmic Curiosities is an event for adults to visit the Modesto Children’s Museum for a special program. It will be an evening of “mystical exploration, hands-on fun, and metaphysical magic ...,” a press release said. The museum will offer several themed experiences, including tarot and palm readings, celestial craft stations, astrological activities, metaphysical vibes and more. Ages 18 and older only.

All Hallows Faire

Impalaween
The Modesto Impala Car Club will host Impalaween, which will include Día de los Muertos activities. The club will hold a trunk-or-treat for children. There will be a kids costume contest, as well as lotería — a Mexican game similar to bingo — for all ages. Fleet Sliders Classic Trucks Club members will have ofrendas (Día de los Muertos altars) on their trucks.

“Queens of the Dead: Slay or Be Slain” at the State Theatre is a fundraiser for MoPride. The night features performances by Sasha Devaroe, Bettie Mercury, King Cain and BooHoo.
