The joker and the bluesman come to the Ironstone Amphitheatre this weekend for the continuation of its summer concert series. The Steve Miller Band is known for hits like “The Joker,” “Fly Like an Eagle,” “Rock’n Me,” “Abracadabra” and more. Chicago bluesman Guy has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and picked up a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Grammys recently.

Modesto Fiji Festival
Polynesian culture takes center stage at the Modesto Fiji Festival. The annual Fiji Social Cultural Association event offers live dance, entertainment, kids’ activities and a soccer tournament. There will also be traditional and other food and beverages for purchase at the alcohol-free festival.

Farm to Table Dinner

Chains Required
Sonora-based rhythm-and-blues band Chains Required comes to rock Newman’s West Side Theatre. The 10-piece group features a four-piece horn section and two vocalists. Formed in 2007, the group plays music spanning the 1960s to present.

Brice Station

History’s Mysteries
Costumed volunteers re-enact a real historical case during History’s Mysteries on Saturday at Columbia State Historic Park. This year’s show relives the Allen vs. Knox duel of 1854. After watching the re-enactment, the audience can interview the witnesses and participate in a “trial” to get to the bottom of the case. Also included will be historical information on dueling during the California Gold Rush.
