Modesto native among stars in dark comedy film. See who and what the devil it’s about

Modesto native Ginger Gonzaga has a top role in an upcoming dark comedy film, “Damned If You Do.”

The movie follows friends who as teenagers sold their souls to the devil, according to a story on Deadline.com.

“Subsequently, life takes them down different paths, as a rock star, a tech mogul, and a high-profile activist,” according to the Deadline story. “Years later, they must rely on an old classmate to try and escape Hell’s grasp before the contract’s deadline of their 25th high school reunion.”

The film will star Harvey Guillén (“What We Do in the Shadows”) and Kate Siegel (“The Fall of the House of Usher,” “The Haunting of Hill House”). Gonzaga joins the rest of the cast, which includes Paulo Costanzo (“Royal Pains”), Beth Dover (“Orange Is the New Black”) and Ed Weeks (“The Mindy Project”), according to Deadline.

No release date has been posted.

Gonzaga, a Beyer High School graduate, starred in a season of “True Lies” on CBS, based on the 1994 James Cameron film. She also starred in the 2022 Disney+ series “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.”

Recently, Gonzaga had a role in the short film “Last to Leave,” according IMDB.com, and is listed as director, writer and star in another upcoming short film, “Mermaid.”
