Beloved Broadway musical comedy to play Gallo Center. When to see this revamped version

Modesto Performing Arts presents a revamped version of the musical “Anything Goes.” Juneteenth will be marked in Modesto and Riverbank on separate days. And a hot air balloon festival returns to Ceres. These are just some of the events set for June 15-21 in the region.

“Anything Goes”

Modesto Performing Arts presents the comedic musical “Anything Goes” at the Gallo Center. The story takes place aboard the 1930s cruise ship the S.S. Americana. It features Cole Porter songs including “It’s De-Lovely,” “I Get A Kick Out Of You,” “You’re the Top,” “Blow, Gabriel, Blow” and the title song.

The script has been completely rewritten from the original for today’s audiences, according to a press release from MPA. “There are more shenanigans than ever on board the ship. This is the same version that was currently playing on Broadway and that has won numerous awards.”
