Cliffhanger ending for Modesto actress’ CBS series. Where it goes from here

Despite an ending that left audiences expecting more, the TV series “True Lies” starring Modesto native Ginger Gonzaga won’t return for a second season.
CBS canceled the reboot of James Cameron’s 1994 action comedy film, according to an online story on Deadline.
“True lies” starred Steve Howey (“Shameless”) and Gonzaga (“She Hulk: Attorney at Law”) in the roles played by Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis in the Cameron movie.
The series followed Harry Tasker, an international spy for a U.S. intelligence agency, and his wife, Helen (Gonzaga), who made the shocking discovery that her husband was leading a double life, according to the Deadline story.
The finale ended in a cliffhanger that fans won’t get to see played out.
The scene showed Helen and Harry safe at home with their kids, a story on TV Insider said. But in the final moments, the camera showed a van parked across the house.
“They think the danger’s passed,” a character said to a caller, according to the Insider story. “We take them apart now piece by piece. Begin phase three.”
Gonzaga is a Beyer High School graduate who has had several roles on television and in film.
