Rock band Train pulls into the Fruit Yard Amphitheater for the venue’s latest summer offering. There’s comedy at the State Theatre, along with the closing days of the Stanislaus County Fair and more set for July 15-21.

Rock band Train is sent for a show at the Fruit Yard Amphitheater in Modesto. The band is known for hits such as “Drops of Jupiter,” “Hey, Soul Sister” and “Meet Virginia.” Also performing at the concert will be Better Than Ezra.

Comedy show

Laughs can be found at the State Theatre in Modesto during the “Censor This Tour.” The show is slated to feature viral comedians Zach Rushing, Dustin Sims and Jesse Peyton.

Shane Mauss brings his “Comedy + Science + Psychedelics = A Better Trip” show to the State Theatre. According to the theater’s website, it blends Mauss’ personal psychedelic experiences with the history, science, culture and laws surrounding psychedelics in the U.S., along with multimedia display of live visuals and custom animations.

Tribute to Dolly Parton

County fair finale

The Stanislaus County Fair finishes up its 10-day run with entertainment, arena events, carnival rides, food, livestock and more. Scheduled to perform on the the Modelo Free Stage are Ashley McBride on July 15 and Los Nuevos Rebeldes on July 16, both at 8:30 p.m.

WHEN: Buildings open 5 p.m. Friday; noon Saturday and Sunday through July 16. Buildings close 11 p.m., the carnival and grounds at midnight
