Stanislaus County Fair
It’s your last chance to eat all the food you can find on a stick at the Stanislaus County Fair. The annual expo’s final weekend will feature concerts by country star Jerrod Niemann on Friday, July 17; blues rock act Grand Funk Railroad on Saturday, July 18; and Spanish-language favorites Banda Machos on Sunday, July 19. Free park-and-ride shuttle available from California State University, Stanislaus, and Pitman High School.

Prospect One-Acts
Prospect Theater Project presents “Strangers & Lovers,” a presentation of four one-act plays. The productions continue with performances of “Mrs. Dally Has a Lover” by William Hanley and “Some Kind of Love Story” by Arthur Miller Friday-Sunday, July 17-19; and July 24 and 26. The company will present “The Yalta Game” by Brian Friel and “Elegy For a Lady” by Miller July 23 and July 25. The one-acts will be directed by Michael Hewitt, David Barbaree and Jenni Abbott.

Modesto Film Society
The Modesto Film Society opens its 2015-16 season by taking a trip “Back to the Future.” The 1985 hit features Michael J. Fox as a time-traveling teenager who goes into the past and runs into his future parents. The film group’s new season will feature classics like “The Music Man,” “Tootsie” and “East of Eden” over the coming year.

Women’s Music Tiki Night
The Northern California Women’s Music Festival presents a Tiki Night show. The concert will feature 2014 Valley’s Got Talent winner Alida McKeon, 2015 “American Idol” contestant and former Ripon Christian student Maddy Hudson, Direct Divide with Razz from the Blow Up Dolls, Low La La, Rainbow Girls, Athena McIntyre and Nadine the Band. The show will be open to all ages until 10 p.m., then 21-and-over after.

Journey Revisited
Central Valley-based tribute band Journey Revisited brings the sound of the 1970s classic rock act to life in a benefit show at the State Theatre. Modesto bandmates Jeff Salado, Val Popvic, Kevin Jachetta, Michael “Gonzo” Gonzales and David Hawkes play the music of Journey. The show raises funds for the Center for Human Services and its Pathways and Hutton House programs. Northern California singer-songwriter Max Minardi opens the show.

Summer Bash Car Show
Roll on over to the 25th annual Summer Bash Car Show at the Fruit Yard. The show is open to all makes, models and years of cars. The event will include a poker walk, coloring contest, music, vendor booths and more. Proceeds will benefit Shriners, Soroptimists and Community Hospice.
