Not one but two former Modestans to appear in touring musical in San Francisco

A pair of former Modestans will be close to home when they appear in a touring production of the musical “Mean Girls.”

Lindsay Pearce plays the leading role of Janis and Sam Gerber is a swing, covering several different roles, in the BroadwaySF show at the Golden Gate Theatre in San Francisco. It runs Jan. 31-Feb. 26, according to an email from Scott Walton, director of communications for BroadwaySF.

“Mean Girls” features a book by Tina Fey, based on her screenplay for the popular film, according to a press release.

Pearce is coming off a recent starring role on Broadway as Elphaba in “Wicked.”

“Mean Girls” marks Gerber’s touring debut, according to Walton’s email. He’s performed in regional theaters across the country.

Gerber performed for YES Company while a student in Modesto.

“Mean Girls” opened on Broadway in April 2018, the release said.

Tickets for the San Francisco production are $66.50-$174.50, available at broadwaysf.com.
