The State Theatre gets into sports, with a plan to show a pair of World Cup matches on its big screen. The Vienna Boys Choir brings its holiday show to the Gallo Center for the Arts, where there also will be magic in air. They are among the top entertainment events in the region Nov. 19-25.
World Cup at the State
The State Theatre in Modesto will bring the World Cup to its big screen. The theater will show two matches: England vs. USA and Mexico vs. Argentina. Tickets include the live broadcast and a hot dog with chips and soda.

Vienna Boys Choir
The Vienna Boys Choir has been entertaining music lovers across the world for six centuries. The group’s “Christmas in Vienna” program, coming to the Gallo Center for the Arts, showcases their voices in a program featuring Austrian folk songs, classical pieces, popular songs and holiday favorites.

Magic man Rob Lake
The illusionist brings his “The Magic of Rob Lake” production to the Gallo Center. His shows continue to entertain audiences on television and in casinos, arenas and theaters across the country and worldwide. He also was featured on “America’s Got Talent.”

Flamenco guitarist
Jose Antionio Rodriguez brings his skills to the Mistlin Gallery in Modesto. The flamenco guitarist has performed at international festivals, sharing the stage with musicians such as Chick Corea, Al Di Meola, Astor Piazzola, Alejandro Sanz, Joan Báez, George Benson, Arturo Sandoval and others. The show benefits child art education programs of Red Tie Arts and the Central California Art Association.
