If you’re a chocolate lover, this is your weekend, as the Oakdale Chocolate Festival returns. If you’re a music lover, you can check out Modesto Porchfest. Those are just two of the entertainment events in the Modesto region from May 21-27. Here’s a look at some of what’s planned.

Chocolate fest

That incredibly craveable sweet treat will be celebrated at the annual Oakdale Chocolate Festival. Its Chocolate Avenue will have such items as fudge, truffles, chocolate ice cream, chocolate cheesecake and more. The event also features arts and crafts, antiques, food and vendors.

Porchfest

Modesto Porchfest is back. Outdoor concerts will be set up throughout the La Loma, College and downtown neighborhoods in the city, with homeowners hosting local bands on porch, patio and driveway stages.

Bonsai show

The Modesto Bonsai Club returns with its annual spring show. There will be demonstrations, exhibits and sales of plants, pots and tools. Club teacher Sam Adina will be available.

Stunt dogs

Stunt Dog Experience returns to the Gallo Center. Stockton native Chris Perondi leads his dogs through dancing, tricks, stunts, athletic feats and comedy antics. All the dogs were adopted from shelters and pounds across the country. Only limited seats remained available at press time.

“Coppelia”

Central West Ballet closes its season with “Coppelia” at the Gallo Center. The comedic production tells the story of an eccentric toymaker who dreams of bringing his mechanical dolls to life.

Paint along

The State Theatre presents a “Pissarro Inspired Paint Along” in its lobby. Artists from Dragonfly Art For Life will walk participants through impressionist painting before the 7 p.m. screening of “Pissarro; Father of Impressionism.”
