The Fruit Yard keeps Graffiti Summer hopping with its annual Back to Graffiti festival this weekend. A barbecue, live music with Threshold, a classic car show, raffle prizes, vendors and more will be on hand.

Nostalgic film

Enjoy some indoor Graffiti Summer fun at the air-conditioned State Theatre and sing along to the 1978 classic “Grease.” The sing-along screening will be held Saturday where patrons are invited to watch the newly restored and remastered favorite while dressed in their favorite characters from the film.

Juneteenth celebration

The annual Juneteenth celebration returns to the King-Kennedy Memorial Center this weekend with festivities that include a talent show, speakers, gospel singers, bands, cultural performances, educational exhibits, a black business expo, community resource information booths and children’s activities. Juneteenth commemorates the ending of slavery in the United States.

When: 6-8 p.m. June 19 for talent show; 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 20, festival

Garden Party

Art, music and food mark the annual summer fundraising event for the Carnegie Arts Center in Turlock. The gardens of The Greenery Nursery will host guests for an evening that includes artwork on sale by regional artists, live jazz music, wine and food from local restaurants.

‘Our Father’

“Family Ties” actor Michael Gross, along with four other actors and the director, will be in Calaveras County on June 20 to screen their award-winning short film “Our Father.” Gross plays an estranged father whose dementia necessitates care by his son. Two screenings will be followed by question-and-answer sessions with stars, writers and director Linda Palmer. Not suitable for ages under 17. The screening at Ironstone Vineyards includes a red carpet and swag bags and is limited to 100 people.

Art, Wine and Jazz Festival

Celebrate the last day of spring at this annual event. The Art, Wine and Jazz Festival features local artists, live music, wine-tasting and an art competition, art show and sale. Music during the day will be performed by Kiel Williams and Nick Lefler.
