“Georgia On My Mind – Celebrating the Music of Ray Charles” features singer Clint Holmes, Take 6 and vocalist Nnenna Freelon performing the music of the soulful legend. You’ll hear “Hit the Road Jack,” “What’d I Say,” “I Got a Woman,” “I Can’t Stop Loving You,” “Baby It’s Cold Outside,” “Georgia on My Mind” and other Charles hits.

“Seven Guitars”

Sankofa Theater Company presents the August Wilson play “Seven Guitars” at the Gallo Center. The play is filled with flashbacks focusing on seven African-American characters in the year 1948, beginning and ending after the funeral of one of the main characters.

Music and stars

The Modesto Symphony Youth Orchestra and Modesto Junior College Great Valley Museum combine for “Music Aligns With the Stars.” Youth chamber ensembles will perform during presentations inside the MJC planetarium as well as outside in the Great Valley Museum.

“The Photo Collective” exhibit features the work of Photo Collective members at the Carnegie Arts Center’s Lobby Galleries. The 40 works by 12 photographers represent a variety of approaches and perspectives. Color, black and white and digitally enhanced images are included.

The Modesto Film Society presents the 1942 classic “Casablanca,” starring Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman. It’s the story of a political romance with a backdrop of war conflict between democracy and totalitarianism.
