There will be cartoons screened in the morning, an open house with screenings of 1934 serial cliffhangers, 1934 news of the day and a documentary on the State Theatre. A birthday party reception before the screening of 1934 film “A Night at the Opera” rounds out the evening.

‘Nutcracker in Jazz’
Central West Ballet puts a jazzy twist to its classic performances of “The Nutcracker.” All in Jazz, this special performance offers a swing into the holidays. The jazz performance is available one night only while the classic “Nutcracker” performances will continue through Dec. 22.

Candlelight Tours
Take a self-guided walk-through tour of the Victorian Christmas-decorated McHenry Mansion. Tour by candle and gaslight. There will be demonstrations of 19th century activities and musicians playing holiday music. Includes dessert served in the basement.

Will Ferrell plays a human raised as an elf. Buddy seeks to remind his birth family the true meaning of Christmas and save Christmas in New York. The screening is among Christmas films playing at the State Theatre this season.
