MOMIX

MOMIX, a company of dancer-illusionists, brings its program “Opus Cactus” to the Gallo Center. The show brings the landscape of the American Southwest to life by creating dynamic images of cacti, slithering lizards and fire dancers.

“The Miracle Worker”

Gallo Repertory Theatre is building a following presenting entertaining and inspiring plays. Next up for the Gallo Center for the Arts resident company is the touching true story of deaf and blind Helen Keller and her teacher Annie Sullivan in “The Miracle Worker.”

The Company Men

The four men that make up vocal group The Company Men weave current Top 40 hits with re-imagined classics of the last six decades, blending songs by artists such as Sam Smith, The Four Tops, Michael Jackson, Katy Perry, Adele, Bruno Mars, Michael Bublé, The Eagles and more. The Broadway veterans offer more than 60 songs during their “A Night of Hits.”

Modesto singer Patty Castillo Davis headlines this concert and coat drive, that also will feature other guests. The show benefits Inter-Faith Ministries of Greater Modesto, and they’ll accept donations of new and gently used coats in all sizes during the event.

Modesto Area Partners in Science brings in National Geographic explorer and TED talk speaker Tierney Thys for its next free presentation. The family science program will take the audience on ride around the world’s oceans to learn about their immense importance to all life and influence on human evolution and history.

Veterans Day Celebration

Modesto Junior College Veteran Services invites the community to a Veteran’s Day celebration featuring a keynote address by Mike Ritland, who served 12 years as a U.S. Navy SEAL in Operation Iraqi Freedom and multiple Special Forces missions. He also has served as a Navy special warfare multipurpose canine trainer. K-9 units from the Modesto Police Department and Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department also will provide demonstrations with their specially trained dogs.

Everyone knows comedian Sinbad. From starring roles in films “Houseguest” and “Jingle All the Way” to TV shows “A Different World” and “The Sinbad Show.” David Adkins, better known as “Sinbad,” started his standup comedy career while serving in the U.S. Air Force. After several appearances on “Star Search,” the 6-foot-5-inch comic was hard to miss. He brings his show to the Gallo Center for the Arts.
