The Spanish-language hit-maker landed No. 1 on the Latin Albums Billboard charts with his 2012 release “El Muchacho.” The singer also serves as a judge on “La Voz Kids,” Telemundo’s Spanish-language version of “The Voice” for children.

Modesto Certified Farmers Market
The first Saturday market of 2015 opens this weekend. The Modesto Certified Farmers Market started its season on a Thursday for the first time in its history this year. Saturday’s event will include an Easter celebration with egg hunts for three different age groups, family crafts and a visit from the Easter Bunny. Some 45 to 50 vendors will be on hand for the inaugural weekend market, which will include live music by Bay Area entertainer Fred McCarty.

Cesar E. Chavez Family Day
Celebrate the life and legacy of the late Latino leader at the 19th annual Cesar E. Chavez Family Day Celebration this weekend in Modesto. The The Modesto Parks, Recreation and Neighborhoods Department’s Maddux Youth Center, in collaboration with Modesto City Schools, hosts the event, which will include speeches, poetry, cultural dances and community resources. Refreshments will be provided.

Masters of Soul

MJC Plant Sale
Stock up on greenery for your house and yard at the 19th annual Modesto Junior College Plant Sale. The MJC environmental horticulture department hosts the event at the nursery and greenhouse on the east campus. Sensory Friendly Film
The Sensory Friendly Film series returns to downtown Modesto’s State Theatre. The program is run in partnership with the Stanislaus County Office of Education and geared toward families with children on the autism spectrum. Students in second to sixth grades are welcome to enjoy the animated Pixar film “Toy Story” in a comfortable environment with the senior staff of the Central Valley Autism Project in attendance. Families can bring gluten-free, casein-free snacks from home. A parent social after the screening will offer an opportunity for families to mingle and meet others with children on the autism spectrum.
