Comic Gardell to perform in benefit for autism group

Mark your calendar to laugh for a good cause on June 4.

Comedian Billy Gardell, star of “Mike & Molly,” will headline the Comedy for a Cause fundraiser at the Gallo Center for the Arts. The event will benefit the Race For Autism Campaign, which helps families who have children with autism.

Mariposa Art & Wine Festival

Spend the weekend enjoying art and wine in the foothills.

The Mariposa Art & Wine Festival features artists showing off their work as well as winemakers offering tastings. The event also features food and live entertainment sponsored by the Mariposa Yosemite Rotary Club.

Festivities run from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, May 27, on the Mariposa County Courthouse lawn. Admission is free. For more information visit www.mariposarotary.org.

Youth Art Exhibition entries

The Carnegie Arts Center is accepting entries to to its Youth Art Exhibition this week.

The exhibit will showcase the work of children ages 5-18. Entries will be received from Thursday, June 1, to Sunday, June 4. Entries are limited to a maximum of three per child, and if more than one work is submitted it must be created using different media.
