Sonora Celtic Faire
The Sonora Celtic Faire returns with clans, kilts and combat. The event will feature 10 stages of live entertainment including headliners BarleyJuice, Wicked Tinkers, Black Brothers and Golden Bough. Knights in armor will joust on horseback and there will be sword duels and combat competitions. There will be traditional food and drink, including Scotch and Irish whiskey tasting rooms.

Cesar Millan
“Dog Whisperer” Cesar Millan brings his knowledge of canine companions – as well as one of his four-footed friends – with him to the Gallo Center of the Arts. The star of the new Nat Geo Wild series “Cesar 911” will discuss his pack leader training philosophy as well as do demonstrations with his dog, Junior. But, sorry, leave your own pooches at home for the presentation.

Sunday Afternoons at CBS
The Sunday Afternoons at CBS series closes is 23rd season with an extended weekend of events. The Jewish Renewal 101 weekend includes special Jewish Renewal services tonight and Saturday morning as well as a Jewish Singing workshop on Saturday afternoon. For the concert Sunday, Jessica Leash, a cantorial soloist, will perform popular folk songs from the ’60s and ’70s, gospel, Yiddish songs and more.

‘The Buddy Holly Story’
“Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story” has spent more than 25 years touring the world as one of the world’s most successful rock ’n’ roll musicals. The show tells the story of Holly’s career, which was cut short in 1959 by a plane crash that also took the lives of Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper. The show features hits from Holly’s “Peggy Sue” and “That’ll Be The Day” to Valens’ “La Bamba” and The Big Bopper’s “Chantilly Lace.”

Center Stage Unplugged
The new concert series Center Stage Unplugged kicks off this weekend. The acoustic shows will be held three times a month and showcase touring artists from a wide range of genres as well as local performers. The inaugural event Sunday will feature feature Alameda group KCDC featuring Deborah Crooks and Modesto group Midnight Mover.
