Two Myra shows are fundraisers for Fallen Angels
Former Disney singer Myra will perform two shows at Urbano California Bistro & Nightclub in Modesto this weekend.
The singer of “Miracles Happen” from the film “The Princess Diaries” will play back-to-back nights in downtown Modesto. Both shows are benefits for the Modesto-based Fallen Angels Guidance Foundation, which helps displaced and homeless LGBT youths.
Myra’s show on Friday, Dec. 16, will be a tribute to the late Tejano and Latin pop superstars Selena and Jenni Rivera. Her show Saturday, Dec. 17, is titled “Merry Myra Glam Christmas” and will include holiday music. Both concerts will also feature a drag performance by local entertainers.

Family Friday Holiday Pajama Party
The final Family Friday of the year spreads holiday spirit at the Carnegie Arts Center this weekend.
The Turlock gallery celebrates with its annual Holiday Pajama Party. The event will feature Sacramento’s B Street Theatre Company presenting classic American folk tales and legends with holiday twists. Participants are encouraged to come in their pajamas and bring a blanket. Snacks and crafts will be included.

Juline ‘Holiday Follies’
Modesto’s Juline Regional Youth Ballet presents its annual “Holiday Follies” show this weekend.
The dance school and Juline Foundation for Children will feature performances from the holiday classic ballet “The Nutcracker,” followed by a classic, humorous follies dance show.
The performances will be at the 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16; 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17; and 1 and 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, at the California State University, Stanislaus, Mainstage Theatre in Turlock.

‘Caroling in the Cavern’ concert
Find the holiday spirit even in the darkest places with the “Caroling in the Cavern” concert at Moaning Cavern.
The seventh annual Christmas caroling event at Moaning Cavern Adventure Park will be at 6 p.m. on SaturdayDec. 17. The show features the choir Jazz@8 from Summerville High School. Carols will be sung a cappella in multipart harmony to take advantage of the cave’s natural acoustics. The festivities will end with Santa rappelling to the bottom of Moaning Cavern’s main chamber to distribute gifts to guests.
The show gets underway at 6 p.m.
Tickets are $22 and available for the upper platform, spiral staircase and lower platform.

Gallo Center shows added
The Gallo Center for the Arts has added two Latin-music shows to its 2017 schedule.
First up will be Spanish-language superstar Miguel Bosé on April 20. The Latin Grammy Award-winner has had success with his global fusion Latin pop.
Tickets are $99-$159 and go on sale to the public today, Dec. 16.
Then Tejano/Norteño group Grupo Intocable plays the center June 11. The band’s hits include “Robarte un Beso,” “Prometí,” “Te Amo (Para Siempre)” and “Tu Ausencia.” Tickets are $49-$99.
