Twain impersonator brings ‘Wit’ to Fallon
Mark Twain is back in the Mother Lode for a special holiday show at Sierra Repertory Theatre.
Former Tuolumne County resident Randy Maple chronicles the great American author’s life in his one-man show “Mark Twain: Wit and Wisdom of an American Legend,” which runs this weekend at the Fallon House Theatre. Maples first presented the show at Sierra Rep in 1982 and played the part for more than 20 years across the foothills and Central Valley.

MJC ‘Yuletide Feast’ concert
The Modesto Junior College department of music presents “A Yuletide Feast: Dickens to Rock” choral concert on Friday, Dec. 9.
The MJC College Choir and Chamber Singers, directed by professor Cathryn Tortell, will present a variety of family-friendly holiday fare. The program will go from traditional English carols to contemporary seasonal hits.

Denair Gaslight Conservatory Theatre
The Denair Gaslight Conservatory Theater presents the holiday classic “A Christmas Carol.”
The story tells of the redemption of Victorian-era English miser Ebenezer Scrooge after visits from the ghosts of Christmases Past, Present and Future. Book signing
Veteran Sierra Nevada artist Patrick Michael Karnahan will sign copies of his new book of regional art.
The book, “Trainfire,” features color images of his oil paintings, spanning his work from 1983 to 2016. The hardcover release features paintings in three main themes: railroads, wild-land firefighting and landscapes. He is signing 250 copies of the book’s first edition, which was compiled by local author and historian Chuck Holland.
Signings will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Jamestown Hotel; from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Sutter Creek Theater; from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at All That Matters in Twain Harte; and from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, at the Sonora Opera Hall.
