The popular indie crafters market Mod Shop is back. The fourth annual event returns to kick off your local holiday shopping. More than 70 vendors will participate including Peer Recovery Art Project, Mod Spot, Concetta, Mira’s Bridal, Ralston’s Goat, Deva Cafe, Galletto, Mistlin Gallery, Preservation Coffee & Tea and Modesto Chamber of Commerce. Festivities will include live street entertainment.

Vienna Boys’ Choir

Enjoy 500 years of history as the vaunted Vienna Boys’ Choir comes to the Gallo Center for the Arts for a holiday show. The choir, consisting of boys age 10 to 14, has been performing since the Habsburg Empire. Over the centuries the choir has worked with Austrian composers such as Anton Bruckner, Joseph Haydn, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Franz Schubert – whose music still fills their repertoire.

Sonora Christmas Fair

Feel the holiday spirit in the foothills with the 42nd annual Sonora Christmas Fair. The outdoor fair will feature more than 150 craft vendors, live music, street performers, costumed elves and more. Scheduled performers include Joe Craven, Sourdough Slim, Little Fuller Band and more. Coincides with 36th Winter Wonderland Christmas Parade through downtown Sonora at 5:30pm Friday.

“Christmas with the Nelsons”

The Nelson brothers bring three generations of show business history to the stage for their upcoming Gallo Center for the Arts show. Matthew and Gunnar Nelson – sons of Ricky Nelson and grandsons of Ozzie and Harriet Nelson – present a Christmas classics show. The duo, who broke out on their own as glam rock hitmakers in the 1990s, continue playing music and touring behind their family legacy.

Mariachi Sol de Mexico

Have yourself “A Merri-Achi Christmas” with Mariachi Sol de Mexico. The 13-piece ensemble of musicians and singers blends the holiday spirit with the traditional sounds of Mexico. The group has been nominated three times for a Grammy Award and performed and recorded with Linda Ronstadt, Vicki Carr, Jose Feliciano, Willie Nelson, Juan Gabriel, Vicente Fernandez, Luis Miguel and the Beach Boys.

‘Frozen’ Singalong

Your kids never have to let it go. In fact, now they can belt it from the aisles. Downtown Modesto’s State Theatre allows your little ones to sing along with the animated Disney favorite “Frozen.” The special screening will feature the song lyrics on screen for all to follow along. Fans are encouraged to dress in costume as Elsa, Anna, Olaf, Kristoff and the rest.
