Central Catholic rolls past Kimball 69-3, faces Manteca next
The Central Catholic High football team was a big play waiting to happen on Friday night. The Raiders hope they can continue that next week against Manteca.
Central Catholic put on an impressive offensive display in rolling past Kimball 69-3 in a Valley Oak League game.
Central Catholic (6-0, 2-0 VOL), the top-ranked team in The Bee’s large-school poll and No. 3 Manteca (6-0, 3-0 VOL) will play in Manteca next Friday night in the biggest matchup so far this season of Stanislaus District teams. Manteca rolled past Sierra 43-8 on Friday.
Junior Jared Rice made the most of his touches for the Raiders, gaining 125 yards on four carries and scoring four touchdowns, one a 94-yard kickoff return.
Bee Player of the Year Justin Rice (no relation to Jared) had 81 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries, while Raiders quarterback Hunter Petlansky was 5 for 8 for 126 yards and three touchdowns, on a 46-yarder to Montell Bland. Petlansky also rushed four times for 130 yards and a touchdown.
Central’s defense stifled Kimball’s offense and recorded one interception and one fumble recovery.
