Chuck Hayes Basketball’s 17-and-under AAU team went 4-0 at the NorCal Spring Showcase at Jamtown in Oakland over the weekend, defeating an international lineup.
Chuck Hayes Basketball has two solid 2017s in Darrian Grays (Modesto Christian) and Bryson Ryan (Tokay). Both are in the Top 40.

The roster for the 17-and-unders reads like a Stanislaus District honor roll.
Central Catholic junior Jared Rice and Modesto Christian sophomore Darrian Grays were named to the large-school first and second team this past winter. Ripon teammates Cole Stevens and Aaron Paschini were small-school first- and second-team picks.
Playing in front of more than 40 college scouts, the 17s strung together wins over Seaside’s Finest (80-54), AthElite from Canada (75-67), the Nevada Wolverines (75-62) and NorCal Jump Squad (85-68).
The 17s are 10-0 during the NCAA live viewing period, according to coach Brice Fantazia, with a tournament victory at the Golden State Showcase as well.

Fantazia said Grays, Rice and Stevens were named among the top players at the NorCal Showcase.
Other local products playing for 17-and-unders include Enochs’ Wes Burse; Modesto Christian’s Josthin Dawkins, Nico Rojas-Rojas and Juan Morales Vargas; and Sonora’s Nate Patterson.
