Modesto's Reeves Nelson, dismissed last Friday from the UCLA basketball team, has decided against transferring to another university and instead turn pro, according to his father Brian Nelson.

The elder Nelson confirmed that there is an understanding in place for his son, a graduate of Modesto Christian High School, to play with a European team, but would not comment further until a contract is in hand.

If Nelson had decided to transfer to another Division I school, he would have had to sit out one calendar year and would have had three semesters of playing eligibility remaining.

We'll update this story as more information becomes available.
