Loran Howe: Whether ‘extremist’ or ‘terrorist,’ they’re clearly Islamic
President Obama lectured Americans and Donald Trump on the meaning of words. He explained that coining the phrase “Islamic terrorist” is hurtful and insensitive to people of the Islamic faith. Instead, our president prefers and uses only one word, “extremist,” to describe the killers who without hesitation slaughter innocent human life in the most inhumane and gruesome ways – beheading, burning alive, drowning and tossing them from rooftops.
Mr. President here’s the definition of the word “extremist”: ex·trem·ist, noun; a person who holds extreme or fanatical political or religious views, especially one who resorts to or advocates extreme action. Synonyms: fanatic, radical, zealot, fundamentalist, hard-liner, militant, activist.
So, here we go again with your half truths. When you only use the word “extremist,” what kind of extremist are they? I, for one, am sure they’re not a shuffleboard extremist. Let me help you: The proper term is “Islamic extremist.” I am really tired of being lectured to by a man who cannot properly define what the hell he’s lecturing me about.
