Lance Johnson: Feinstein talks about water, but never delivers

The Dec. 18 op-ed by Congressmen David Valadao of Visalia and Jeff Denham of Turlock describing how Sen. Dianne Feinstein and her Democrat accomplices sabotaged water legislation to help valley farmers was nothing if not déjà vu. On June 24, The Modesto Bee published my op-ed “Water Crisis: Veteran of ‘water wars’ advises: Pick your battles,” (Page 1B), in which I wrote: “Sen. Feinstein has a track record of being long on talk and short on delivery of meaningful relief from the regulatory actions that have stripped the Valley of over 4 million acre-feet of previously delivered water during her tenure. …. In short, don’t hold your breath waiting for DiFi to come to the rescue; she never has and I can’t imagine she’ll start now.”

Sen. Feinstein and Valley Democrats are adept at putting up a facade and talking the talk about addressing California water issues, but time after time, year after year, as described by Reps. Denham and Valadao, they repeatedly fail to deliver meaningful water legislation. And that’s not by accident.

Until Feinstein and valley Democrats are voted out of office, there’ll be little hope for meaningful relief from the scientifically bogus regulations impacting our water supplies and crippling our agricultural industries.
