Jean Hendrix: Paris terrorists weren’t ISIS, or even Syrian

The terrorist attacks in Paris were all carried out by citizens of France and Belgium. The terrorists were not refugees and they were not Syrian, though one carried a fake Syrian passport. The hysteria the Republican candidates for president have stirred up is not based on fact and is just plain, old fear mongering in order to get their names in front of the American people. It does not show leadership.

It does not reflect any ability to keep Americans safe. And, it does not show compassion. No refugee has ever committed a terrorist act in the United States. I am proud of and support the Democrats who show the leadership to try to solve the crisis in Syria without starting another Middle East war; who show the compassion to try to help refugees who have fled their home countries with nothing but the clothes on their backs. I am proud of those working to keep America safe by supporting comprehensive immigration reform.
