James Pender: Yes, there is an afterlife

In response to your letter Susan Robinson, “Hey, Islamic State: There’s no afterlife” (Page 3B, Nov. 20) You should read the Bible; go to Revelations and you could find out what will happen, in the second coming of Jesus Christ, who died 2500 years ago on the cross and washed me with his blood. If you and others don’t believe in a heaven or a hell, they are very real and God created them. The greatest book ever written is the Bible, God’s instructions to us believers getting ready to leave Earth.

Are you consigning your soul to a eternity of suffering? We hope not. God is a loving, caring, understanding God. When and if you read this letter, I would like you to understand I wrote it to all non believers, not just you. Remember this, an eternity in heaven is a lot better than an eternity in hell. I am looking forward to leaving this Earth, a stopover place for us Christians. God wants everybody to join him in Heaven.

James Pender, Modesto
