Ruth Ann and David Barnett: My husband’s bike was stolen

My husband, who is now 75 years old, has been an icon of Modesto for over 40 years, riding his recumbent bicycle all over the community. We currently have no car and it is our only means of transportation. He is being treated for multiplemyeloma (cancer) and I am being treated for breast cancer. Yesterday at approximately 4 p.m., while shopping at Walmart on Orangeburg and Coffee, his locked recumbent bicycle was stolen, leaving him stranded at the store. A police report has been filed, but they have little hope of finding it. We are asking the community for help in locating this bike. Unfortunately we have no picture, but it is black and silver, low to the ground and long, with a small front wheel and large rear wheel. If you have any information please call the Modesto Police Department at (209)572-9500
