Man killed in downtown Modesto shooting
A man is dead after being shot in downtown Modesto Tuesday night.
Modesto Police were called to the alleyway between 15th and 16th Streets at about 6:10 p.m. for a report of a man who’d been shot, according to Sgt. David Chamberlain.

— Modesto Police Dept (@ModestoPolice) January 13, 2016It appears the man was shot while inside a Toyota pickup and that he drove a short distance down the alley toward E Street before crashing into a fence.
Witnesses reported hearing multiple shots and said the man was shot in the face. He was taken to a local hospital where he died.
Officers used a police dog to search the area for two suspects who witnesses said ran from the alley.
