Man arrested in fatal Modesto stabbing

Authorities late Sunday announced they had made an arrest in the fatal stabbing of a man earlier in the day.

According to Modesto police spokeswoman Heather Graves, officers were called to a car wash in the 1700 block of Yosemite Boulevard at 10:45 a.m. A caller reported a stabbing.

The victim, identified only as an adult male, suffered multiple stab wounds, police said. He was taken to a local hospital, where he died.

Police found the suspect, identified as Harvey Holland, 38, near the scene. He was detained and later arrested and booked into Stanislaus County Jail on a murder charge without bail.
