Bomb found in Turlock front yard

The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Bomb Squad responded to a home in north Turlock after a pipe bomb was discovered on a front lawn.

According to Sgt. Anthony Bejaran, Turlock Police called out the bomb squad about 12:30 p.m. to the home in the 2500 block of Oxford Avenue.

The bomb squad dispatched its robot, which “rendered (the bomb) safe in place,” Bejaran said. The detonation left a small hole — “maybe a half-inch deep” on the front yard, Bejaran said.

No injuries were reported.
