Man found shot to death on south Modesto street

A man was found shot to death on a south Modesto street on Wednesday night.

Just after 7 p.m., deputies with the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department were called to the 300 block of Olivero Road on a report of shots fired and a man down in the roadway, according to spokesman Royjindar Singh.

When they arrived, they found the man dead at the scene. His body was found on the east side of the street.

There was no immediate information on the suspects or the identity of the victim, Singh said.

Olivero Road has had a long history of violence and has been referred to by some as “the Devil’s street.”
