Seven robberies hit Modesto liquor stores and other businesses since Sunday night
Modesto police are investigating at least seven robberies at businesses that started at 6 p.m. on Sunday night.
Three of them were armed robberies at liquor stores that are believed to have been committed by the same two men, Lt. Aaron Tait of the Modesto Police Department said.
The others involved an armed robbery at a mini-mart, the theft of pharmaceuticals at a drug store, and the removal of a cash register at an ice cream shop.
No arrests have been confirmed as of 6 p.m. Monday. Police provided these details:
- A report at 5:50 p.m. Sunday that three males had grabbed pharmaceuticals from the CVS store at 1700 McHenry Avenue. Two were described as black and one as possibly Latino, 17 to 21 years old and wearing dark clothing.
- A report at 7:24 Sunday from the ampm store at 3001 Yosemite Blvd. that money was taken by a male wielding a handgun and wearing a hood and ski mask.
- A report at 8:10 pm. Sunday that two black men in hoods and masks used a handgun in taking money from Bottle N'Cork Liquor at 1300 Sylvan Ave.
- A report at 8:34 p.m. Sunday that these two males had done the same at the Bottle N'Cork store at 2055 Tully Road.
- A report at 9:30 p.m. Sunday that this pair had robbed Village Wine & Spirits, 3948 Sylvan Ave.
- A report at 5:22 p.m. Monday that two other men took a cash register from an ice cream shop at 2039 Tully Road.
- A report at about 8 p.m. Monday of a robbery at the College Market at College and Bowen avenues.
