Man shot during Ceres marijuana robbery

A Ceres man was shot in the foot Friday night during a home invasion robbery related to marijuana, according to police.

The incident occurred at about 8:25 p.m. in the 2700 block of Dale Avenue, near Carroll Fowler Elementary School, said Ceres Sgt. Keith Griebel.

Details were scarce Saturday but Griebel said police responded to the home for multiple reports from neighbors of shots fired.

The suspects and the victim were gone when police arrived but the victim showed up a local hospital a short time later with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his foot, Griebel said.

Several suspects were involved in the robbery during which multiple pounds of marijuana were taken.

Griebel did not have a description for any of the suspects and no other details were released Saturday.
