Update: Victim identified in south Turlock homicide

The victim of a weekend homicide in south Turlock was identified Monday as Rudy Yvanes, 59.

The Turlock resident’s body was found in front of a home on the 200 block of I Street on Saturday night, the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department reported Sunday.

No suspect information was included in Monday’s update from the department, which responded at about 9:15 p.m. Saturday to this unincorporated part of Turlock. The update said the body was found at a vacant property that is “a hangout for homeless people.”

Yvanes had an apparent gunshot wound to his upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene, the department said.
