Woman shot dead inside a garage at a home in northeast Modesto

A 26-year-old woman was shot dead late Friday night in northeast Modesto, authorities said.

Just before midnight, officers responded to a report that a woman was being treated at a nearby hospital for gunshot wounds.

Offices were alerted by witnesses that she was shot while inside a closed garage at a home in the 1800 block of Floyd Avenue near Rose Avenue.

Authorities believe multiple shots were fired from outside of the garage by a yet-to-be identified suspect. Nobody else at the home was injured.

It’s the fourth homicide being investigated by Modesto police since Nov. 17.
