No one was hurt when an SUV crashed into a home on Scottsdale Way in Modesto on Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 15, 2020.

The driver of an SUV crashed into a car and then the rear corner of a house at the intersection of Scottsdale Way and Kruger Drive on Wednesday afternoon. No one in the vehicles or home was injured, the Modesto Fire Department reported.

The crash happened about 2:15 p.m. on the street off Rose Avenue south of Orangeburg Avenue.

A Modesto woman, 48, was driving the Honda Pilot when she suffered a medical emergency, Modesto Police Department spokeswoman Sharon Bear said. She accelerated into a Ford Taurus driven by another Modesto woman, 78.

After sideswiping the Taurus, the Pilot driver crashed into the garage of the house, damaging the water heater, Bear said.

A Fire Department engine crew arrived to find major damage to the home and to its natural gas service.

PG&E responded, utilities were secured and a second fire crew shored up the damaged walls and roof.

The American Red Cross was called to the scene to assist two adults and a child in the home.

The driver of the Pilot recovered from her medical emergency, Bear said.
