A bicyclist died Wednesday evening after being hit by a car in west Modesto.
The 47-year-old man was apparently riding east on the north side of Kansas Avenue, against traffic and a red light, when he was hit by a car traveling north on North Carpenter Road, said Sgt. Jerry Ramar.
The accident happened at about 5:30 p.m. The driver of the car remained at the scene and was cooperating with officers.
