Romeo Doubs signed with the New England Patriots in free agency. Earlier in April, the Packerstraded Dontayvion Wicks to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for a 2026 fifth-round pick and a 2027 sixth-round pick.

Those moves allowed the Packers to be more flexible with Jayden Reed, who Green Bay picked in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Packers have locked Reed down for the long term. He agreed to a three-year contract extension with Green Bay worth $50.25 million in new money. He will have $20 million of that guaranteed.

“Wide receiver Jayden Reed and the Packers now have agreed to a three-year contract extension worth $50.25 million in new money, including $20 million guaranteed, per agents Drew Rosenhaus and Ian Grutman,” Schefter posted on X.

The Packers currently have Reed, Christian Watson, Matthew Golden, Will Sheppard, Savion Williams, Skyy Moore, Bo Melton, Isaiah Neyor, and Jakobie Keeney-James at wide receiver.

Green Bay invested heavily in the receiver position during last year’s draft when they made Golden a first-round pick.

Reed appeared in seven games and started three amid a fractured collarbone and surgeries to recover from a broken clavicle and a Jones fracture in his left foot.

During his first three seasons in the league, Reed has recorded 138 receptions for 1,857 yards and 15 touchdowns.

The extension is a solid move for the Packers, giving quarterback Jordan Love a consistent target after losing Doubs and Wicks this offseason.

Green Bay was silent in Day 1 of the draft Thursday night after trading their first-round pick to the Dallas Cowboys as part of the acquisition price for Micah Parsons. The Packers are expected to look for help on the offensive line in Day 2.
