Micah Rapier: Ridenour better choice for city council
This year, with the right candidate, the city council has a great opportunity to get a jump on fixing problems.
For instance, Doug Ridenour – who served as a policeman, DA spokesperson, and who has owned a business – takes his jobs seriously. His opponent, David Wright, was elected as treasurer of the Stanislaus Republican Party and never prepared a budget; he could not answer basic questions about expenses and would rely on the answer “look at the 460s,” because he had no idea what was on them.
David Wright presided over a decline in fund-raising despite a joint fund-raising agreement with Jeff Denham, who loves Jeb Bush.
More disturbing, Wright and his accomplices sought to destroy members of the committee who were opposed to his iron fist. He then pushed for new bylaws that would allow him to unilaterally remove people he didn’t like from the committee.
Under David’s watch, the Republican Party has continually floundered and receded in influence. Good candidates like, McBay, Moyer, Burnside, Mobley and others lose because there is no support here. Vote Doug Ridenour. Wright is wrong for Modesto.
