2nd Amendment history warped
In response to "Time to reconsider fascination with guns" (June 5, Letters): This presents an inaccurate historical perspective. The Second Amendment was not created by the Founding Fathers to help citizens tame the frontier.
Rather, after winning a hard-fought war for independence from a tyrannical British government, the Founding Fathers feared — and rightly so — that citizens needed a means to protect themselves against future tyrants foreign and domestic.
