These are the rudest US cities, according to a new survey. Did yours make the list?
How rude!
A new survey has revealed the top 50 rudest cities in the United States.
Business Insider surveyed 2,092 U.S. adults this fall and asked them to pick the top five rudest cities in the country from a list of the 50 largest cities.
New York City ranked No. 1 on the list and was rated as the rudest by 34.3% of survey-takers, followed by Los Angeles with 19.7% of respondents (the traffic in L.A. alone is probably mostly responsible for that stat). San Francisco came in No. 10 with 9.8% of people saying the city was the rudest.
From the subway getting stuck underground to being forced to walk through Times Square, New Yorkers have a long list of things to complain about.
When The New York Post polled real New Yorkers about their opinions of the survey, reactions weren’t too positive.
“Screw those people. Half the people probably haven’t been here!” Carmen, 52, from the Bronx told the New York Post.
Sergio Villanueva, 26, admitted that New Yorkers can be rude at times but “it’s not personal,” he said. “Like, we don’t mean anything by it. It’s just the way we live. People got places to be, people to see. If I bump into you, sorry … but not really.”
On the other hand, WalletHub recently looked at the 100 most caring cities in the country and New York ranked No. 12 on that list.
Californians were also represented with Fremont, California and Irvine, California coming in the top 20 most compassionate cities.
Miami seemed to have a bad reputation on both lists. The city was ranked as the 15th rudest city and the 93rd most compassionate city.
