Two arrested, one sought in Turlock home-invasion robbery
Police in Turlock made two arrests and are looking for a third person after a shot was fired during a home-invasion robbery early Friday.
Officers received a report of a home-invasion robbery in the 1000 block of Boxwood Way at 1:30 a.m., police said in a news release. Police were told that a gun had been fired during the incident.
As they responded, officers found a vehicle in the area that “appeared to be involved,” the release said. Officers tried to stop the car, but the driver sped away.
After a short chase, the car stopped and police arrested Juan Lugogarcia, 18, of Turlock and a 17-year-old whose name was not released. A third person, described only as possibly an adult male, ran away.
In the car, officers found property taken during the robbery, police said. Two guns were stolen; police didn’t find them. Lugogarcia and the 17-year-old were arrested on suspicion of home invasion and discharging a firearm during the commission of a robbery. On Friday afternoon, Lugogarcia remained incarcerated at the Stanislaus County jail with bail set at $300,000.
Authorities said the person who ran away from the car should be considered armed and dangerous. They ask anyone with information on the incident to contact Detective Paul Inderbitzen at 209-668-6551.
