Convenience store on Coffee Road in Modesto robbed

Two armed men robbed a Coffee Road convenience store Monday night in a crime similar to one at the Yogurt Mill shop on Roseburg Avenue the night before.

The men, one with a handgun, the other with a knife, entered the Quik Shop & Gas market at 2716 Coffee Road, shortly before 10:30 p.m. The store is between Rumble Road and Floyd Avenue, just south of Sylvan Elementary School.

Both men were wearing masks and dressed in all black, said Modesto police Lt. Jason Grogan, who added that there have been “a lot of armed robberies” in Modesto recently.

The men fled the market on foot, with an undisclosed amount of money. No one was injured during the robbery.

At about 8:09 p.m. Sunday, two men armed with a handgun and a knife robbed the Yogurt Mill in the Roseburg Square shopping center near Virginia Avenue. They also fled on foot.

Beyond the masked and dark clothing from the Quik Shop robbery, no description of the suspects was available.

Anyone with information on the robberies can call Crime Stoppers at 209-521-4636. Tipsters can email through the Crime Stoppers website, www.stancrimetips.org, or text tips to 274637 by typing “Tip704” plus a message. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and are eligible for a reward.
