Bomb threat reported at Ceres Police Department. Lockdown lifted after investigation

Ceres Police Department

A bomb threat reported Friday morning at the Ceres Police Department prompted temporary lockdowns at nearby facilities before authorities determined the threat was not credible, officials said.

The Police Department said it received a call just after 9 a.m. reporting a bomb threat directed at the department.

Law enforcement personnel conducted an assessment and determined the threat was not credible, according to the department.

As a precaution, facilities near the police station were temporarily placed on lockdown while officers investigated.

Once authorities confirmed there was no credible threat and the area was secure, the lockdown was lifted.

Police said the investigation into the incident remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sgt. Berber at 209-538-5672.
