One arrest after strong-armed robbery at Riverbank's Kohl's store
Stanislaus County sheriff's deputies arrested one suspect and were searching for two others after a theft turned strong-armed robbery at the Kohl's department store in Riverbank on Thursday night.
About 7 p.m., two men and a woman were leaving the store with $400 worth of merchandise when they were confronted by an employee, whom they in turn assaulted, said Sgt. Anthony Bejaran.
The robbers got into a white, early-2000s Hyundai and were seen driving east on Claribel Road.
A short time later, deputies found the suspects' car in the 1300 block of Gargotto Court near Orangeburg Avenue and Claus Road.
Deputies arrested Benjamin Ramos, 49, on suspicion of robbery and probation violation.
Deputies still were looking for the other two suspects.
The outstanding male suspect is described as Latino, in his 30s, about 6-foot-1, with a thin build.
The woman is black, in her 20s and visibly pregnant.
