A domestic violence call early Saturday led to the seizure of several firearms and about 600 pounds of processed marijuana in Ceres, according to the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were dispatched about 2:53 a.m. Sept. 6 to the 5400 block of Central Avenue after a report of a man fighting with a woman, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies contacted David Hurtado, 30, and Jessie Bobadilla, 23, and detained both men. Investigators later found firearms, ammunition and roughly 600 pounds of processed marijuana.

Hurtado was arrested on suspicion of making terrorist threats, possession of marijuana for sale and domestic violence. Bobadilla was arrested on suspicion of being an accessory. Both were booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.

Sheriff Jeff Dirkse highlighted the seizure in a Facebook post, writing, “Excellent work by Patrol last night! If you’re going to be an illegal marijuana ‘salesman’ don’t start an argument. And don’t bring an AK47,” a reference to one of the weapons recovered. His post included photos showing deputies posing with large bags of marijuana stacked on a patrol vehicle.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 209-525-7114 or leave an anonymous tip with Stanislaus Area Crime Stoppers at 866-602-7463.
