Gustine boy to get his wish
Garrett Spaulding is an Orestimba High School student who was born with a rare disease that causes blisters and tears on his skin, which become painful and can become life-threatening. He has done extensive research on recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa, and meets annually with new resident doctors at Stanford to talk to them about his condition.
Thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s Fresno branch, he’ll get a shopping spree Friday that includes a limousine ride with police and fire escorts through Gustine and Newman on his way to Modesto. There, he’ll visit Best Buy and The Game Shop to buy computer gear, a PlayStation 4, and games and other electronic gadgetry. Then, it’s on to the Texas Roadhouse for lunch.
Founded in 1980, Make-A-Wish grants wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. For more information on Make-A-Wish, go to http://wish.org.
